Will We Laugh

from Tomorrow is Here Today by Francis Friday

/

about

Kind of a throwaway track. No idea why I put it 3rd on the album. It's about a trip I took to Ocean Grove with my girlfriend at the time and the tense atmosphere it suffered. The only part I like is the harmonic guitar solo at the end.

lyrics

Will we laugh at the way we talk about who we are?
And push along the boundaries of what we are
Can this love last a thousand days in the setting sun?
Or are we just a knot that has come undone?
Our arguments can lead to a brand new start
Or wash away the blood from an empty heart

So we pack up our bags and follow the brightest star
And dream about the days when we pushed too far
As the waves crash along the boardwalk in Ocean Grove
We stay up late and keep all the voices low
The town will watch us through the venetian blinds
As we drink a toast to all that is left behind
