End of the Line

from Tomorrow is Here Today by Francis Friday

/

about

Right after I returned to Brooklyn from my voluntary exile, I bought Fleetwood Mac's 'Tusk'. The first song, Over and Over, really floored me. I listen to it over and over again (ha ha) and based this song on it. I really tried to capture that late '70's southern california sound in the production. The lyrics are too melodramatic though.

lyrics

As I looked into your big brown eyes
I set the table and I wonder why
How come we made such a big mistake?
I tried to search around for some kind of sign

I guess we made up our minds
It's like the end of the line

I held your hand as you turned away
And I think about the other day
When I held you in my arms and cried
And now I want to die

I guess we made up our minds
It's like the end of the line

And the way you looked that night
I don't want to get you out of my sight
Don't turn away

And when I think about the things we said
I can't remember what was in my head
How could you tell me that you wanted more?
I thought that's what love was for

I guess we made up our minds
It's like the end of the line
